JH Stars split vs Cadets of Cascade

The Western Boone 7th grade girls basketball team traveled to Cascade last night to face the Cadets. The Stars shook off a sluggish offensive start with tough defense and got things rolling mid 1st quarter to take 12-2 lead after the first. The Stars continued to find their rhythm thru much of the 2nd quarter heading into half up 21-6. Defense was impressive throughout the second half with several steals and holding the Cadets to just 4 points for the half. Rebounding continued to improve with Molly Rausch, Ady Nicley and Katie Gott pulling down several rebounds. Bryan King, Jayden Paris and Khloe Dunavent added defensive steals leading to transition offense. Ady Nicley leading scoring with 26, Jayden Paris 4, Molly Rausch 2, Bryar King 2, Khloe Dunavent 2, Kaity Gott 1. The Stars win 37-10 to end the season with a record of 11-2. Western Boone 8th Girls Basketball fall to Cascade 26-35. The Stars were led in scoring by Cadence Paris with 15. Brooklyn Wagner and Lyla Kinsler had four a piece. Ashton Pelley 2, Mady Monks 1. The Stars host the Sagamore Conference Tournament this week. WeBo plays Lebanon Thursday night at seven.
