Lady Stars shine bright in JH basketball

The 7th grade girls basketball team traveled to Crawfordsville last night to face the Athenians. The Stars shook off a sluggish first two minutes to take off with their biggest quarter of the year of 16 points. The Stars defense was stifling leading to several fast break layups and a 27-8 lead into half. The 3rd quarter was much of the same with the Stars keeping the pressure on and extending their lead to 37-14. The Stars transition offense continues to improve giving them the 40-20 victory. The Stars were lead in scoring by Ady Nicley with 24, Jayden Paris added 9, Molly Rausch 5 and Kaity Gott 2. The 8th Grade Girls Basketball team came out ready to play at Crawfordsville Wednesday evening. WeBo’s aggressive press early led to several quick scores. The stars jumped out to a 15-5 first quarter lead and never looked back. Lyla Kinsler led the Stars with 15 points Cadence Paris chipped in 13 and had several assists. Ashton Pelley led the team in steals and had six points. Rounding out the Stars scoring: Kensley Blankenship 4, Abigayle Humphrey 2, Brooklyn Wagner 2. Mady Monks dominated the glass the entire game and had several assists. Estelle Wagner provided aggressive defense. WeBo wins their third straight with a final score 42-22. They are next in action Tuesday at Cascade.
