First JH Swim Meet of the season The Stars travelled to Cascade on Thursday to compete in their first Junior High swim meet of the season. The boys won by a score of 103-70. The girls fought hard and kept it close but lost by a score of 89-73. Highlights from the girls team. The 200 Medley Relay of Maelynn Stambro, Josie Berkopes, Rachel Rustin and Hannah Ranney finished first. The team of Alivia Adkins, Mackenzie Clements, Kate Foy and Ava Quilter finished second. Rachel Rustin and Ava Quilter finished 1-2 in the 200 Free. Hannah Ranney won the 100 Free. Highlights from the boys team. The 200 Medley Relay of Eli Baldwin, Ari Smith, Kolten Conner and Blaine Ballentine finished in first place. Zach Ford won both the 200 Free and 400 Free. . Kolten Conner took first place in the 50 Free. Blaine Ballentine and Liam Sartin went 1-2 in Diving. Eli Baldwin and Wayde Pollard finished 1-2 in the 100 Backstroke. The 400 Free Relay team of Zach Ford, Eli Baldwin, Blaine Ballentine and Harlan Threlkeld won the final event of the night. JH Swimmers fall to Crawfordsville The boys and girls JH swim teams competed against Crawfordsville on Monday evening. The girls team lost 125-56. The boys team also lost 101-76. On the girls side Josie Berkopes dropped over 6 seconds for a new best time in the 100 IM. Leah Jones and Lillian Miller both dropped time in the 50 Free for new best times. Maelynn Stambro dropped over 6 seconds in the 100 Backstroke for a new best time. In the 100 breaststroke Mackenzie Clements, Josie Berkopes and Kate Foy all dropped time to finish with new best times. Highlights from the boys meet. Eli Baldwin swam a new best time in the 200 Free. Blaine Ballentine won both diving and the 100 Backstroke. The 200 Free Relay team of Liam Sartin, Ari Smith, Wayde Pollard and Harlan Threkeld finished first. Harlan dropped over 7 seconds in the 100 Breaststroke. There is already so much improvement in just our second meet of the season. The Stars are back in action on Wednesday when we face North Montgomery at home.
