The Eighth Grade Girls Basketball team hosted Lebanon on Thursday night. Lebanon jumped out to a quick 9-4 first quarter lead. The Tigers were scoring primarily in transition. The second quarter saw Brooklyn Wagner heat up. Brooklyn had six of her ten points in the quarter. The stars trailed 15-18 at the half, but felt to have the momentum. A few defensive adjustments and a desire to beat their rivals set a new tone for the second half. Feeding off of great defensive efforts from Cadence Paris, Mady Monks, and Lyla Kinsler the Stars shutout the tigers in the third quarter. Holding a 19-18 lead heading into the fourth. A back and forth final quarter had emotions running high on both sides of the court. The fans were so rowdy it felt like a varsity atmosphere. With 1:11 left to play, the Stars were holding a four point lead. Unfortunately, that lead disappeared as the Stars were unable to put the game away, falling to the Tigers by a final score of 26-27. Cadence Paris had eight points. Estelle Walker and Lyla Kinsler each chipped in four. Kensley Blankenship and Abigayle Humphrey contributed quality minutes off the bench. The 7th grade girls basketball team hosted rival Lebanon last night.  The stars started off strong taking the early lead 10-6 after the first quarter.  A stagnant 2nd quarter for the Stars giving up the lead but going into half only down one 12-11.  The tigers stayed consistent on offense pulling away in the second half.  The stars had too many turnovers and offense struggled.  The stars lose their first game of the season 34-13.  The stars scoring breakdown, Ady Nicley 12, Bryar King with 1.
