The 7th grade girls basketball team opened their season by hosting the Danville Warriors last night . Molly Rausch controlled the tip and the stars were off and running. The Warriors kept it close in the 1st quarter but the Stars came out in the 2nd quarter and brought the defense. Ella Oakley, Ady Nicley, and Molly Rausch had several steals leading to a big quarter for the Stars offensively and headed into half up 11. The second half the Stars continued to put the pressure on defensively holding the Warriors to only 3 pts. Katie Gott and Bryar King also added several rebounds to help secure 27-11 win. The Stars were lead in scoring by Ady Nicley with 23, Ellla Oakley 2, and Khloe Dunavent 2. The Eighth Grade Girls Basketball team faced a tough challenge against an aggressive Danville squad, falling 48-16. Cadence Paris led the offense with 11 points. Brooklyn Wagner added with a strong three-point play, while Ashton Pelley made her mark by scoring the Stars' first bucket of the season and effectively moving the ball up the court offensively. On the defensive end, Mady Monks made an impressive debut, quickly creating turnovers, chasing down loose balls, and fighting for rebounds. Estelle Walker also contributed valuable minutes with her solid defensive effort. The Stars will look to bounce back and secure their first win of the season at home against Sheridan on Wednesday night.
