Lady Swimmers start season with tie (91-91) against Fountain Central

The lady Star swimmers kicked off their season on Thursday night against Fountain Central. The evening ended with a tie against the Mustangs, 91-91. Leading the meet with a win was the medley relay team of Arianna Stieber, Adelaide Jones, Hannah Hayden, and Kaitlyn Crowley; the team of Annabelle Mickschl, Micah Hole, Jenna Twitty, and Rebecca Rustin also placed third. Samantha Jones followed with a win in the 200-yard freestyle; Rustin also placed fourth. In a close 200-yard IM race, Hayden finished second, followed in fourth by Twitty. A. Jones earned the Stars another win in the 50-yard freestyle; Adalyn Sartin also finished sixth in the race. In diving, Cara Hanna placed second with a score of 159.70. Stieber kicked off the second half of the meet with a win in the 100-yard butterfly, followed by Mickschl in fourth. A. Jones and S. Jones finished first and second respectively in the 100-yard freestyle, with Hole finishing sixth. Crowley and Hayden earned another 1-2 finish for the Stars respectively in the 500-yard freestyle. The 200-yard freestyle relay team of Twitty, Hayden, Crowley, and S. Jones placed second, and the team of Sartin, Mickschl, Rustin, and Hole placed fourth. Stieber earned another individual win for the Stars in backstroke, with Twitty and Mickschl following in second and fourth. Hole earned third and Rustin fifth in the 100-yard breaststroke. Finishing out the meet with one more win was the 400-freestyle relay team of A. Jones, Crowley, S. Jones, and Stieber.
