Western Boone JH XC traveled to Danville for a meet against Danville and North Montgomery. It turned out to be a great night for running! The cloud cover kept temperatures cooler, and the team was back on a course they tend to enjoy. Even with the rain moving in toward the end of the meet, our runners continued to compete hard and finished strong! For the boys, Wyatt Delp led the Stars with a top-10 finish and a new PR of 12:16! Liam Sartin came in 2nd for the Stars with a season-best time of 12:54. Gabriel Threlkeld finished 3rd for the Stars with another season-best time of 13:21. Rounding out the boys team was Daniel Trittin with a season-best time of 14:09, just seconds away from beating his previous PR! For the girls, Hayley Trojnar led the Lady Stars with an impressive 5th-place overall finish, coming in first for the Lady Stars and setting a new PR of 13:32! Hayley shaved more than 40 seconds off her previous PR! Kinley Bivens finished 2nd for the Stars and in the top 10 overall, running a strong 15:12. Alisha Manning came in 3rd for the Lady Stars with a season-best time of 15:24, also beating her season-best time from last year! Skyler Yarger finished 4th for the Stars with a season-best time of 16:08. Rounding out the top five was Taylor Martin, who set a new PR of 17:03! Ruthie Manning finished 6th for the Lady Stars with a time of 18:27, followed by Lydia Boggs at 18:44. It was a great night for the Stars! From new PRs and season-best times to runners coming within seconds of their best, everyone showed progress and continued to put in the work. We are so proud of the effort and determination our runners showed, especially as the rain moved in and they continued to race strong. Great job, Stars! Keep working, keep improving, and keep chasing those next goals!
