The varsity softball team took on the Bruins in the first round of sectionals

Western Boone Varsity Stars watched the game slip away early and couldn't recover in a 13-3 loss to Tri-West Hendricks Varsity Bruins on Tuesday. Tri-West Hendricks Varsity Bruins scored on an error and a single by McKenzie Walters in the first inning. The Western Boone Varsity Stars struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively containing Tri-West Hendricks Varsity Bruins, giving up 13 runs. Tri-West Hendricks Varsity Bruins got on the board in the first inning when an error scored one run for Tri-West Hendricks Varsity Bruins. Western Boone Varsity Stars put up three runs in the fourth inning. Western Boone Varsity Stars scored its runs on a home run by Makenzie Amich. Tri-West Hendricks Varsity Bruins scored five runs in the fourth inning. Tri-West Hendricks Varsity Bruins's big inning was driven by singles by Audrey Lowry, Walters, Emma Frye, and Lainey Price. Lowry took the win for Tri-West Hendricks Varsity Bruins. The hurler lasted five innings, allowing two hits and three runs while striking out seven. Gabby Lewis started the game for Western Boone Varsity Stars. The hurler went four innings, allowing 13 runs on 15 hits and striking out three. Western Boone Varsity Stars socked one home run on the day. Amich had a homer in the fourth inning. Amich and Lewis all had one hit to lead Western Boone Varsity Stars.
