The WEBO Jr. High Baseball Blue team travelled to Frankfort to close out a 3 game road trip. Unfortunately the Hotdogs ran away with this one, 17 - 2 but there were some notable highlights. At the plate, the Stars hitters did a good job making contact against a tough pitcher, but most of their hits were kept in check by Frankforts' solid defense. Charlie Jones did manage to turn a pair of Frankfort errors into a run with some daring on the basepaths. Noah Cole and Timothy Boddicker reached base safely in both their at bats. And last but not least, Josiah Williamson was a perfect 2 for 2, with 2 sharply hit balls to the outfield and a run scored. On the mound, Timothy Boddicker pitched the best he has all season, inducing a fly ball to get the Stars out of a jam in the second inning and striking out 2. And Aiden Lester closed out the Stars' time on the mound with a perfect 1, 2, 3 inning, along with a strikeout. The Blue team had several defensive stars. Owen Young recorded 3 outs, while manning second base. Levi Hayden had a pair of grabs at first as well as a great play on a hard hit grounder back to him on the mound, which he quickly tossed to first base for the final out of the first inning. Josiah Williamson made one of the toughest plays in the game behind the plate, tossing his catcher's mask and tracking down a flyball in foul territory to end the second inning and strand runners on third and first. The Blue Stars finish out the year at home on Wednesday night against Lebanon at 5:30. Come on out and cheer them on as they look to close out their season in the win column. Go Stars! Go!
