The 7th grade Stars travelled to Linden to take on MAC opponent the North Montgomery Chargers. The Stars started out sluggish offensively in the first half, but the Defense of Nate Muir, Elijah Pastore, Zane Rearden, Wyatt Redman, Corbin Eckert, Gage Miller, Spencer Worrell, Brayden Newman, Gunner Shirley, Austin Harlow, Carter Crahen, and TJ McKinney kept the Chargers from the moving the ball. The Stars took a 6-0 Halftime lead thanks to a TD by Crahen. The Stars got the offense rolling in the 2nd half with another Crahen TD, and TDs by Miller, Shirley, Cannon Dunk & conversions by Crahen, Harlow, & Shirley rounded out the scoring. The Offensive Line of Pastore, Worrell, Redman, Eckert, Levi Nelson, and Easton Banks dominated the Line of scrimmage in the 2nd half. Crahen also grabbed an interception in the 4th quarter to seal the shutout and the Stars 36-0 victory. 8th Grade The Western Boone 8th grade football team travelled to North Montgomery on Tuesday to take on the Chargers in a big conference match up, as both teams entered the game unbeaten on the season. The goal for the night for the Stars was to focus on "being us" while committing to taking care of the little things. With only a few minor hiccups, the Stars were able to complete that task, jumping out to a 22-0 half time lead and finishing the evening with a 44-20 victory. Thanks to the offensive line, the Stars were able to methodically move the ball to jump out to the comfortable lead in the first half and then answer every score by North Mont in the second half. Rushing touchdowns for the night were recorded by Connor Palmer (2 TD), Jackson Potter (2 TD), Lukas Harrison (1 TD) and Ryder Devol (1 TD). Additionally, Potter added two conversions (1 rushing, 1 receiving), while Harrison added two more rushing, in yet another very solid rushing performance by him. The defense once again played a game where they were able to completely shut down their opponent for most of the evening, while also being under a constant barrage, as their opponent repeatedly sought the big play to try to get back into the game. They would only allow two scores as a unit late in the contest, after the result was all but decided. The Stars travel to Frankfort next Tuesday to take on the Hot Dogs in a 5:30 start.
