Last night, the Stars faced off against Crawfordsville in a match that showcased our team’s strengths and areas to tighten up moving forward. The first set was a quick and decisive win for the Stars, finishing 25-11 as we dominated from the start. Our energy and focus were on point, setting the tone for the match. However, the second set presented a different challenge. Coming out a bit too confident, our team showed more hesitation and a noticeable drop in energy. This allowed Crawfordsville to catch up, and we gave up more points than expected. Despite this, the Stars stayed composed and managed to pull through with a 25-20 win, securing the match victory. Player of the Game: Jade Hobson Jade, originally joining us as a setter, has truly found her niche in defense. She played an outstanding game against the Athenians, leading the team with 6 aces and proving to be a defensive powerhouse in the back row. Jade’s ability to read and adjust to the ball ensured no drops on her watch. Beyond her impressive stats, Jade’s leadership and constant encouragement on and off the court make her an invaluable part of the Stars. We are incredibly proud of her growth and know she will continue to shine throughout the season. Other Shining Stars: Riley Cervi: After missing last week due to illness, Riley came back strong with powerful serves and top-tier defense that kept Crawfordsville on their toes. We’re lucky to have her back in the lineup. Bristol Demaree: Bristol kicked off our scoring early with killer serves, including 4 aces contributing to our first 6 points. Her growth as both a server and setter has been phenomenal and an important piece of our offense. Corah Edwards: A dependable setter, Corah’s near-perfect sets led the team with 8 assists last night. Her adaptability and precision have been a huge asset to our offense. Thanks to the hard work and synergy of our setters, the Stars tallied an impressive 15 kills during the game. Their efforts truly make a difference in our success. Looking ahead, we face Clinton Prairie, a challenging match that the team is preparing for with the right mindset and determination. The Stars are ready to rise to the occasion — Go Stars!
