8th Grade Girls dominate competition in Cougar Round Robin; Finish 1st

The 8th grade volleyball team won the Cougar Round Robin Tournament on Saturday with strong teamwork and dominant play. The Stars opened with a sweep over Monrovia, winning 25-7 and 25-8. They carried that momentum into their second match against Frankfort, cruising to a 25-4 and 25-15 victory. Ady Nicley highlighted the match with an incredible 15-point serving run in the first set and a 7-point run in the second. The final match of the day was against North Putnam, where the Stars kept control and won 25-7 and 25-13. Molly sparked the first set with a 6-point serving run, and Ella added a 4-point serving run in the second set to help secure the win. Stat leaders for the day included: Ady Nicley – 14 aces, 3 kills Molly – 3 aces, 6 kills Ella – 16 assists, 2 kills, 2 aces Zoie – 5 assists, 2 aces Kaity – 5 assists, 3 aces Harper – 2 aces The Stars played well together to keep their momentum and showed strong offensive power at the net. While the team struggled with a few miss serves and at times played down to the level of their opponents, they pushed through, stayed composed, and finished the day undefeated to claim the tournament title.
