Here is my summary from the tournament this weekend! The Stars dominated the court this weekend, going undefeated (3-0) to win the Early Bird Tournament Championship! With wins over two conference rivals and a tough non-conference opponent, this team set the tone for what looks to be a thrilling season ahead. Game 1 vs. Monrovia We kicked things off with a strong performance against Monrovia, setting the pace early and never letting up. The Stars controlled the match from start to finish, earning a quick 25-13, 25-16 win to start the day with confidence and momentum. Game 2 vs. Frankfort Our second match was a rollercoaster. Bristol Demaree set the tone with an incredible serving streak, taking the Stars to a 13-0 lead right out of the gate. But Frankfort battled back, closing the gap to 18-15. After a quick timeout, the Stars regrouped and dug deep, closing out the match 28-26, 25-20 with grit and determination. Game 3 vs. North Putnam — The Championship Match Our toughest match of the day came against a strong North Putnam squad. From the very first serve, it was clear this would be a battle. But the Stars rose to the occasion, playing their most complete and unified game of the season. With minimal errors, pinpoint sets, dominant serving, and relentless defense, the gym was electric with energy from both the players and the fans. We clinched the tournament title with a convincing 25-12, 25-22 win! 🌟 Players of the Tournament Eliza Baird – Eliza had the game of her life, leading the team with 12 kills. Her powerful serves and smart court awareness helped lead the Stars through all three matches. She's playing her best volleyball yet—and we couldn’t be prouder to call her a Western Boone Star! Brooklyn Tatman – Brooklyn was unstoppable from the service line, racking up 10 aces for the tournament. In the final match against North Putnam, she served 7 straight points, including 5 aces! Her defensive presence in the back row was just as impressive—she was everywhere the team needed her to be. Riley Cervi – Riley had her best defensive performance yet, covering the court with incredible speed and precision. She didn’t let a single ball drop without a fight and gave our offense more chances to score with her near-perfect passing and smart coverage. Huge things are ahead for Riley! This weekend was a massive success for our team. From teamwork to talent, hustle to heart—this didn’t look like a 7th grade volleyball team. We’re beyond proud of these young ladies and can't wait to see their continued growth this season. Go Stars!
