Cross Country teams compete in the Landes Invitational

The Western Boone Cross Country team raced at the Landes Invitational Thursday night facing 12 teams of fierce competitors. With nearly perfect conditions for running, Aiden Lester was first to cross the finish line for the Stars in 10th place (17.54.5), followed closely by Alex Crockett in 16th place (18.08.0), Brennan Bivens with a new PR of 18.38.3 in 22nd place, Brayden Schick with a new PR (19:53.2), Eli Bishop with a new PR (20:22.5), Rex Stanley (21:08.4), Owen Young (21:19.9), Caleb Crockett with a new PR (21:47.3), Kole Nelson (22:46.6), Andres Morales with a new PR (23:12.6), and Izaak Harsin with a new PR (25:46.7). The boys team came in 5th place over all. In the girls race Charlotte Stucky ran for the 7th place medal with a new lifetime best of 20:48.3, followed by Joan Gearheart who won the 13th place medal with a time of 22:40.0, Abigayle Humphrey with a new PR of 23:38.8 (18th), Kate Higer in 19th place (23:50.0), Janelle Gearheart in 20th place (24:04.3), Harmony Gilbrech with a new PR of 25:19.9 (24th), Katrina Brewer with a new PR (26:57.9), Adalyn Sartin (28:24.7), and Britney Richwine (30:00.0). The girls team pushed themselves and fought hard to win 2nd place overall. The Stars will race again on Saturday at the Terre Haute North State Preview.
