The junior high boys tennis team kicked off their season with a great 3-2 win over Southmont on Wednesday. 1S Brady Edwards and 3S Dawson Vaughn both played well after moving up in the lineup from last year, but came up short of victories. 1D Caleb Bush/Grayson Ford returned as doubles partners and came away with a great back-and-forth 8-6 win, while the 2D first-time duo of Viktor Miller/Greyson Bogs battled through a hard-fought match before rising to the occasion and sweeping the tiebreaker 7-0. The deciding point came down to 2S Evan Dexter, who, in his debut, pulled off a fantastic 8-5 victory to lock in the team win! At the reserve level, Trace Merrill, Weston Schrader, and Parker Buckingham all picked up good wins. The Stars will travel to North Montgomery Thursday at 5PM.
