Western Boone Jr. - Sr. High School

The Western Boone Cross Country team traveled to Southmont High School Tuesday evening for the Leap into September meet against 5 of our conference teams. Aiden Lester fought hard for 2nd place with a time of 18:42.51, followed by Brennan Bivens who ran strong for 7th place with a time of 19:18.95. Alex Crockett kicked hard to the finish line to beat a competitor for 8th place with a time of 19:30.42. All 3 athletes walked away with medals and the boys team won second place over all with solid efforts from Owen Young (15th place), Eli Bishop (18th), Brayden Schick (22nd), Rex Stanley (26th), Kole Nelson (36th), Andres Morales (39th), Caleb Crockett (44th) and Izaac Harsin (47th). In the Girls race, Charlotte Stucky finished in 3rd place (22:32.16), followed by Joan Gearheart in 5th place (24:04.79). Both girls won individual medals. Janelle Gearheart finished in 11th place, followed by Kate Higer (13th), Abigayle Humphrey (14th), and Harmony Gilbrech (16th). Katrina Brewer (25th) and Adalyn Sartin (27th) battled it out and pushed each other to a strong finish, followed by Britney Richwine (33rd). The girls worked hard and brought home the 1st place team trophy. The Stars are heading to Hamilton Heights Thursday to run in the Landes Invitational.
