The Lady Stars came out strong last night, dominating the first set with a 25-15 win. The team showcased impressive communication, aggressive kills, and consistent serving streaks to set the tone early. However, the momentum dipped in the second set. A lack of communication and a temporary loss of confidence allowed Greencastle to fight back, handing us a tough 15-25 loss. Determined not to let a new conference rival take the match, the girls regrouped and brought renewed energy into the third set. Their grit and determination led to a convincing 15-8 victory to seal the match. Player of the Game: Sullie Smith Sullie Smith was unstoppable last night, kicking things off as the first server in set one and quickly pulling ahead with a commanding 10-0 lead. Her powerful serves gave Greencastle’s defense trouble from the start. Sullie led the team in both aces and kills and even notched an assist—proving once again that she’s a true all-around player. No matter the position, Sullie thrives, and we’re so proud of the player she’s becoming. We can’t wait to see what she brings to the court as the season progresses. Other Standout Performers: Eliza Baird backed Sullie with an impressive 5 kills, showing great timing and court awareness. Lexi Wilt contributed 4 kills and was key in placing the ball into open spaces, helping us keep Greencastle off balance. Riley Cervi, our libero, anchored the defense with smart reads and strong digs, giving us the opportunity to transition into effective offensive plays. We’re incredibly proud of the team’s performance and resilience. The focus now shifts to Thursday’s matchup against Danville — and we’re ready for the challenge!
