The Western Boone Cross Country team travelled to Danville Saturday to run in the Hokum Karem. The Hokum Karem is a unique and intense race where the athletes are put into pairs and each person alternates running a mile, with each athlete running a total of 3 miles. There were a total of 47 pairs in the boys race. Aiden Lester and Alex Crockett teamed up to win 5th place, and Brennan Bivens and Brayden Schick ran for 17th. Joan Gearheart and Charlotte Stucky won the 4th place ribbon in the girls race out of 35 total pairs. In the 2 mile Reserve Race Katrina Brewer ran strong for 10th place, and Andres Morales ran for 11th place. The Stars will compete again when they kick off their busy week at the Leap Into September meet on Tuesday evening.
