8th Grade Volleyball The Western Boone 8th grade volleyball team earned a two-set win over Southmont, 25-8 and 25-19, controlling much of the match with strong serving and steady energy. From the opening serve, the Stars dictated the pace. Even though they struggled during the second set to close it out, Western Boone showed resilience and found a way to finish both for the victory bringing their record to 2-0. Several players stepped up with big performances. Ady led the offense with 10 kills and also added 4 digs on defense, making her a force at the net and in the back row. Molly contributed 3 kills of her own, while Cora had a standout all-around night with 6 digs and 6 aces. Serving was a major strength across the board, with Ella, Kaity, and Zoie each having 3 aces to keep the pressure on Southmont’s defense. Communication lacked at times, especially when trying to close out the sets, and they’ll need to keep building confidence in themselves and each other. The teamwork, energy, and effort across the lineup allowed Western Boone to a straight-set victory. 7th Grade Volleyball The Stars were told to bring the energy—and they understood the assignment. From the moment the first whistle blew, the gym was electric, and our players were more than ready for this conference showdown. They came out strong, confident, and focused, taking both sets with commanding wins: 25-13 and 25-18. This game showed just how much we’ve grown as a team. Our communication was sharper, our execution cleaner, and the chemistry on the court was undeniable. Everyone played their role, and the result was a well-earned victory. Our Star Player of the Game was Corah Edwards. Corah continues to shine as a key contributor on the court. Her sets were nothing short of exceptional, giving our hitters every opportunity to dominate at the net. In the back row, she was just as reliable—her passes were consistently on point, and she refused to let a ball drop. We’re incredibly proud of the player she is and excited to watch her continued growth. Adjusting the lineup isn’t always easy, but our girls handled it with maturity and poise. A special shoutout to Phoebe Bruder and Kenzie Mikesell for stepping into new roles and doing so with confidence. Their adaptability helped us maintain our momentum and come out on top. We also saw strong serving streaks from Alivia Adkins, Emery Clements, and Quinn Cunningham, which helped us set the tone early and keep the pressure on throughout the match. We’re proud of each and every one of these Stars and can’t wait to see them back in action Tuesday against Greencastle. Let’s keep this energy going!
