Western Boone Jr. - Sr. High School

The Western Boone Lady Stars collected their 8th conference win of the season and improved to 12-3 as they defeated the Lady Athenians 12-2 in 5 innings.   The Stars defense got off to a little bit of a slow start allowing 2 unearned runs in the 1st but the offense came out hot scoring 10 runs in the bottom half of the inning.  Mickey Burns got the start in the circle giving up 0 earned runs on 4 hits striking out 8 in 5 innings pitched.  The Stars were led at the plate by Adi Lee and Raina Lutz both collecting 2 hits in the contest.  Mikayla Naanos, Morganne Grant, Dottie Wilson, Kirstin McCormik and Burns all added a hit of their own in the win.  The Stars will travel to Crawfordsville for game two of the season series with a 5:30pm start.
