Western Boone Jr. - Sr. High School

The Lady Stars softball team took to the field last night against the Lady Tigers of Lebanon and completed the season sweep of their county and conference rival in 4-3 fashion. The Stars held the Tigers scoreless in the first inning while plating two on back-to-back singles by Mickey Burns and Mikayla Naanos. The Stars would be held in check until scoring 2 more in the bottom of the 6th after Lebanon had tied it up in the 5th inning this time the Stars scored on back-to-back hits by Ally Lewis and Raina Lutz. The Stars defense held strong committing no errors and elimanting the threat in the 7th by cutting down two separate Tiger runners trying to take the extra base after a base hit. The first being an Addi Lee to Lewis to Morganne Grant for the first out of the inning followed by a Lee to Grant to Burns putout to clinch the win. Lewis got the start and pitched another complete game going 7 innings allowing 3 earned runs on 9 hits, 4 walks and 5 strikeouts. The Stars will travel to McCutcheon to take on the Lady Mavericks Friday with a 530pm start.
