Western Boone Jr. - Sr. High School

The Western Boone boys golf team travelled to Bear Slide on Thursday night to face a very solid Hamilton Heights team. Despite losing the match 173-198, it was a positive night for the Stars. Playing on one of the toughest courses in the state under a steady rain & strong winds, the Stars were able to respond from their highly disappointing first match and shave 28 strokes from their match 1 total. Considering the poor conditions and greatly increased challenges that Bear Slide presents, this was a significant achievement and major improvement. Evan Terwiske led the way delivering a 42, followed by Luke LaGrange’s 48. Ben Fortner would add a 53 and Alex Thompson a 55 to complete the scoring. Asher Foy carded a 58 to lead the three non-scoring golfers. The Stars look to continue the momentum as both the JV and Varsity travel to River Crest on Saturday for the always fun and highly anticipated Covington Early Bird Scramble.
