In the first game, the girls got off the bus ready to play and brought their bats with them. The A group came away with a 16-4 victory over the North Montgomery Charges, collecting 16 hits in their 33 plate appearances as the whole lineup seemed to be dialed in. Caydence Paris and Mady Monks lead the team offensively, each going 3 for 4 at the plate and driving in multiple runs. Harper Nance, Riley Gunn, Jade Hobson, and Abby Detti added two hits each, while Kensley Blankenship and Jayden Paris added a hit each of their own to help the cause. The hot bats helped the Stars jump out to an early lead in the first inning and the team never looked back. In the circle, Kensley Blankenship picked up her second win on the season with another complete game. Blankenship kept the Charger hitters guessing all evening, she faced 25 batters giving up just six hits with four strikeouts and five walks. She was consistently in the strike zone all evening and allowed her teammates to play defense behind her picking up her second conference win of the season. In the second game, the team’s hot bats continued with the Stars coming away with a 14-1 victory. The team collected 12 hits in their 21 total at bats with Layna Zigler leading the way going 3 for 3 at the plate with two RBI’s. Jerzie Nelson and Kenzie Mikesell had two hits each, while Aleena Beck, Lexi Lenehan, Sullie Smith, Phoebe Bruder, and Mae Wilson contributed with a hit each. In the circle, Cora Reagan and Sullie Smith both pitched well facing six batters each. Reagan started the game giving up one hit with four strikeouts. Sullie Smith then came in to finish the game up giving up just two hits with three strikeouts of her own. The Jr. High Lady Stars will be back on the field this Thursday, 4/17, at home facing Crawfordsville with a scheduled game start of 5:30pm.
