Western Boone sent their Varsity Baseball team to Greencastle to face off with the No. 4 ranked Tiger Cubs. The Stars were unable to get much offense going against some very quality Creencastle pitching, ultimately falling 4-2. Hawkins lead the offense with two hits. Cale Scagnoli added a hit and Beau Sawyer recorded his first varsity pitch. Quinn Westerfeld started on the mound and pitched 4 quality innings striking out 9 and giving up only 2 earned runs against only 3 hits. Easton Nance pitched the last two innings and gave up 1 earned run on 2 hits and struck out 3. Layton Yancey played right field for the first time and made two very nice plays. Stars return to action Saturday when 3A No. 6 Western comes to Webo for a double header which starts at 11:00.
