Western Boone Jr. - Sr. High School

The Western Boone Lady Stars softball team hosted the Lady Bulldogs of Brownsburg last night and came up short in a 9-4 ballgame. The Stars gave up a run in the first and were able to plate a run of their own in the bottom of the first on an RBI, Fielder’s Choice by Mickey Burns. After a scoreless 2nd and 3rd innings the Stars defense allowed 5 runs. Both teams plated 3 runs in the 6th to cap out the scoring. Ally Lewis got the start going 3 innings allowing 4 earned runs on 5 hits while striking out 3, Burns came in for relief over the final 4 innings allowing no earned runs on 5 hits and striking out 2. The Stars plated 4 runs on 5 hits by Dottie Wilson, Kirstin McCormick, Kenzlei Mathews, Lewis and Burns. The Stars are back in action tonight as they host the Lady Bronchos of Lafayette Jeff with a 5:30pm start.
