The Middle School Softball Teams split with North Putnam in their season opener

The Jr. High Lady Stars opened up their season on Tuesday evening at home Vs. the North Putnam Cougars. In the A game, Kensley Blankenship earned the win in the circle with a 9-1 victory. In her first outing of the season, Blankenship pitched a complete game in an overall solid performance giving up one earned run with four strike outs. Offensively the Stars scored in each half inning they were at bat with three runs in the first, second and third. The team was patient at the plate drawing nine walks putting runners in scoring position. Hits came throughout the line-up with Harper Nance, Mady Monks, Kensley Blankenship, Jade Hobson, and Riley Gunn each having 1 hit each. In the B game, the Stars fell short and lost to the Cougars 2-7 in their opener. Offensively the team struggled at the plate recording nine strike outs. Abby Detty had the Stars only hit on the evening, and some good base running by Jerzie Nelson and Aleena Beck helped the team get on the board in their first inning at bat. The Jr. High Softball team will be back in action on Thursday, 4/11, on the road Vs. Clinton Prairie.
