Western Boone Jr. - Sr. High School

The Western Boone boys swim team travelled to Crawfordsville for a fierce Sectional Competition on Saturday. The boys kicked off the meet winning 4th place in the 200 Medley Relay with the team of Jacob Norman, Jude Balke, Isaac Threlkeld, and Zach Connors with a new season best time of 1:45.68. In the 200 Free Jacob Norman placed 4th with a new season best time of 1:52.13, Chase Collier placed 6th, and Henry Biggs placed 10th with a new season best time of 2:02.69. Liam Whitely took 7th place, Alex Crockett got 8th, and Malachi Catterson placed 11th with a new season best time of 2:35.16 in the 200 IM. In the 50 Free Isaac Threlkeld won 3rd with a new season best time of 23.37, Jude Balke won 4th with a new season best time of 23.70, and Zach Connors placed 7th with a new season best time of 24.31. Xander Rouse won 3rd place with a new personal best score of 319.30 in the Diving competition. In the 100 Butterfly Isaac Threlkeld won 2nd place with a new season best time of 56.07, Ethan Barnett placed 7th with a new season best time of 1:00.91, and Malachi Catterson placed 12th with a new season best time of 1:03.87. Zach Connors placed 5th with a new season best time of 53.99 in the 100 Free, and Brayden Schick placed 12th with a new season best time of 58.05. Jacob Norman showed everyone who was boss in the 500 Free, winning first place with a new season best time of 5:05.54, Chase Collier placed 5th, and Henry Biggs placed 9th dropping over 8 seconds for a new season best time of 5:41.28. The boys placed 3rd in the 200 Free Relay with the team of Jude Balke, Zach Connors, Ethan Barnett, and Chase Collier with a new season best time of 1:34.39. In the 100 Backstroke Ethan Barnett placed 3rd with a new season best time of 1:01.88, Artie Milliser placed 7th, and Aiden Smith placed 16th with a new season best time of 1:21.39. Jude Balke placed 6th in 100 Breaststroke, Alex Crockett placed 7th with a new season best time of 1:10.98, and Liam Whitely placed 10th with a new season best time of 1:15.30. The boys rocked the competition in the 400 Free Relay, winning 1st place with the team of Isaac Threlkeld, Ethan Barnett, Chase Collier, and Jacob Norman and a new season best time of 3:28.00. The boys gave everything they had for this meet and their efforts paid off, winning 2nd place out of 12 teams in Sectionals. The team should be extremely proud of their accomplishments and their amazing winning season. Jacob Norman will be advancing to compete in the 500 Free competition at the State Prelims Friday at the Natatorium in Indianapolis. The 400 Free Relay team including Isaac Threlkeld, Ethan Barnett, Chase Collier, and Jacob Norman, will also be advancing and competing Friday in the State Prelims at the Natatorium. Xander Rouse is advancing to the Regional Competition in Diving and will compete Tuesday evening at Plainfield High School. Go Stars!
