Stars host Blackhawks of Sheridan in Boys Varsity Basketball

The JV Stars lost another close game by the score of 50-46 to Sheridan last night. Late-game turnovers hurt the Stars to finish the 4th quarter. The team struggled offensively in the 1st quarter but put up 35 points in the middle quarters to get a lead heading into the 4th. The Stars are currently 10-8 and have two games left to try to earn a winning season at Cascade and Fountain Central. Carson Nicley led the team with 13 points. Burke Cavins and Beau Sawyer each finished with 10 points. Varsity: The Stars hosted the Sheridan Blackhawks for their last home game of the season on Tuesday evening. The Stars started off slow and fell behind 21-9 after 1 quarter. The team responded well and ended up outscoring a good Sheridan team by 1 the rest of the game. Sheridan would end up winning 67-56. Gavin Hawkins led the team with 17 points. Marcus Fortner had a great 3rd quarter and finished with 7 points and 5 rebounds. Quinn Westerfeld finished with 12 points and 11 rebounds. Tristyn Faulk had 13 points. The Stars are currently 7-13 overall with a couple games left before sectional.
