Stars split with Tigers in varsity swimming and diving

The lady Stars defeated the Tigers 111-73. The medley relay team of Jenna Twitty, Micah Hole, Rashel Anderson, and Samantha Jones finished second in the first event of the night. The team of Lilly Maners, Cara Hanna, Annabelle Mickschl, and Brooklynn Schiery finished fourth. Katherine Aliff earned a win for the Stars in the 200 freestyle, followed by S. Jones and Kaitlyn Crowley in third and fourth. Ari Stieber and Hannah Hayden finished 1-2 in the 200 IM; Twitty finished fifth. Adelaide Jones won the 50 freestyle, Aliff placed third, and Schiery finished fifth. Leelah Fettig ended her regular season career undefeated for two years, winning the diving event for the night. Maisa Kent-Doolan and Hanna followed in second and third. Twitty and Mickschl finished second and fourth in the 100 fly. Anderson earned a win in the 100 freestyle; S. Jones finished third and Maners finished sixth. Crowley, Hayden, and Rebecca Rustin finished 1-2-3 for the Stars in the 500 freestyle. The 200 free relay team of Stieber, A. Jones, Aliff, and Anderson won the event, followed by the team of Maners, Kent-Doolan, Crowley, and Hayden in third and the team of Hole, Rustin, Mickschl, and Schiery in fifth. Stieber earned a second individual win in the 100 backstroke; Mickschl finished fourth. A. Jones, Hole, and Rustin finished second, fourth, and sixth in the 100 breaststroke. Ending the meet with a win in the 400 free relay was the team of Aliff, Anderson, A. Jones, and Stieber. The team of Twitty, Crowley, Hayden, and S. Jones finished third; Schiery, Maners, Hole, and Rustin finished fourth. The girls will head into the sectional competition next Thursday and Saturday. The boys fell to the Tigers with a score of 115-68. The medley relay team of Jacob Norman, Carver Bragg, Tanner Weakley, and Isaac Threlkeld finished second; the team of Ethan Barnett, Zach Connors, Malachi Catterson, and Andrew Johnson finished fourth. Norman, W. Barnett, and E. Barnett finished second, fourth, and fifth respectively in the 200 freestyle. Threlkeld followed with a third place finish in the 200 IM; Catterson and Asher Foy placed fifth and sixth. Chase Collier, Daniel Talbott, and Isaac Garringer finished third, fourth, and sixth respectively in the 50 freestyle. Xander Rouse earned second place in diving for the boys. Weakley and Threlkeld finished second and third in the 100 fly, followed by Catterson in sixth. Talbott, Johnson, and Artie Milliser scored third, fourth, and fifth in the 100 free. W. Barnett finished third in the 500 freestyle; Collier finished fourth and E. Barnett fifth. The 200 free relay team of Weakley, W. Barnett, Collier, and Threlkeld finished second, but were followed closely by the Webo team of Bragg, Johnson, Connors, and Talbott. The team of Foy, Milliser, Rouse, and Garringer finished sixth. Weakley earned the only win for the Stars in the 100 backstroke; Norman finished third and Foy finished sixth. Bragg earned second place in the 100 breaststroke, followed by Connors in fourth. In the 400 free relay, E. Barnett, W. Barnett, Talbott, and Norman finished in second place; the team of Catterson, Johnson, Collier, and Connors placed fourth; the team of Foy, Milliser, Bragg, and Garringer finished fifth. The boys have two more dual meets left for the season.
