Western Boone Jr. - Sr. High School

The Western Boone boys swim team hosted West Lafayette Tuesday evening for a dual meet competition. Alex Crockett swam for a season best time (2:33.54) in the 200 IM, and Chase Collier swam for 2nd in the 200 Free. In the 50 Free Isaac Threlkeld won 1st place (24.43), Jude Balke placed 3rd, Zach Connors placed 4th, and Eli Bishop finished with a new season best time of 27.50. Xander Rouse captured another 1st place win in the Diving competition with a score of 176.50. In the 100 Butterfly Isaac Threlkeld swam for 1st place, Malachi Catterson placed 3rd, and Chase Collier got 4th. In the 100 Free Zach Connors placed 3rd (57.22), Jonny Rutherford got a new season best time (59.18), Brayden Schick got a new season best time (1:00.72), and Eli Bishop got a new season best time (1:03.51). Ethan Barnett placed 2nd in the 500 Free, and in the 100 Backstroke Alex Crockett placed 3rd (1:10.92). In the 100 Breaststroke Jude Balke placed 3rd, Liam Whitely placed 4th, and Ben Twitty swam for a new season best time (1:28.03). The boys got 2nd and 3rd place in both the 200 Free Relay and 400 Free Relay. Despite their best efforts the boys finished with a loss to West Lafayette with a final score of 74-106. The boys team will swim in their final home meet against Fountain Central on Monday.
