JV: The JV Stars came out strong offensively in the first and third quarters to help pull away from the Eagles and get a 56-51 win last night. The team scored 21 and 19 in those quarters and finished with seven different players scoring on the night. They also shot 15-20 from the free throw line to help earn the win. Owen Oakley led the team in scoring with 18 points. Burke Cavins finished with 11 points. Levi Adkins and Carson Nicley each finished with 9 points. The Stars are now 8-5 on the season and have four in a row. Varsity: The Stars had a great team defensive effort for 32 minutes, but especially in the first half by holding the Eagles to just 13 points at halftime. The team continued to be aggressive on the defensive end and had a ton of deflections/steals throughout the game. Tristyn Faulk, Gavin Hawkins, and Marcus Fortner hit some key shots throughout the second half and the team would get the win by the score of 51-43. Tristyn Faulk had a great game with 19 points and 9 rebounds. Quinn Westerfeld and Marcus Fortner had 8 points each. Gavin Hawkins finished with 7 points. Burke Cavins came off the bench and hit some big shots and finished with 7 points. The team is now 5-10 on the season and have won 3 out of their last 4. The Stars host Crawfordsville on Thursday evening.
