The JV Stars went on the road and picked up a huge conference win with a 42-41 win over Danville. The team played a complete 28 minutes for the victory and did an outstanding job on defense to hold the Warriors to 41 points. Beau Sawyer had some huge 3s in the 3rd quarter to give the Stars some breathing room before the Warriors made a comeback. With the game tied at 41, Alex Velazquez was fouled with 0.9 on the clock and hit his 2nd free throw attempt to give the Stars the lead and win. The team is now 6-5 on the season. Varsity: The Stars played one of their better games in recent years against the Danville Warriors but fell short by the score of 57-45. Solid execution from the Stars on defense but too many turnovers led to some easy baskets for Danville. Danville used an 11-0 run early in the 3rd quarter to pull away and get the win. Tristyn Faulk led the team with 17 points. Gavin Hawkins had 8 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 assists. Quinn Westerfeld had 7 points and 10 rebounds. Burke Cavins came off the bench and had 10 points for the Stars. The Stars are now 3-10 and will host North Montgomery this coming Friday.
