Star Swimmers travel back to Crawfordsville for Athenian Invitational

The Western Boone swim teams competed in the 28th annual Athenian Invitational which included 8 different schools over the weekend. The Stars used this opportunity to swim in events they would not normally compete in, or to perfect their event they typically swim. In the 50 Free Jenna Twitty took 6th place, followed by Eisley Whitely in 7th place, Joan Gearheart in 10th place, and Kate Higer with a season best time of 32.18. Adalyn Sartin swam for a new season best time of 1:15.45 in the 100 Free, and Kate Higer had a new season best time as well (1:10.90). Rylee Pelley swam strong in the 500 Free for 6th place and another new season best time of 6:36.25. In the 100 Backstroke Jaili Torp took 6th place and Rylee Pelley took 12th. Jenna Twitty got 6th place in the 100 Breaststroke, and the girls took 6th place in the 200 Free Relay and 4th in the 400 Free Relay. The girls came in 6th place overall. The boys swam for 5th place in the 200 Medley Relay, 6th place in the 200 Free Relay, and 4th in the 400 Free Relay. Isaac Threlkeld swam for 8th place in the 200 Free, and Brayden Schick got 15th with a new season best time (2:21.26). Jacob Norman took 4th place in the 50 Free, Zach Connors came in 7th, and Artie Milliser, Malachi Catterson, Eli Bishop, Liam Whitely, and Wes Redman all had season best times. Chase Collier swam for 6th place in the 100 Butterfly, and in the 100 Free Jude Balke took 6th with a new season best time, Henry Biggs took 9th with a new season best time, Alex Crockett took 10th with a new season best time, Wes Redman had a new season best time, and Aiden Smith swam a 1:06.74. In the 500 Free Jacob Norman took 2nd place, Ethan Barnett took 3rd, Henry Biggs took 5th, Alex Crockett got 8th with a new season best time, and Malachi Catterson got 13th with a new season best time. Chase Collier took 5th place in the 100 Backstroke with a new season best, Artie Milliser took 14th, and Jacob Schrier took 15th, and in the 100 Breaststroke Isaac Threlkeld got 5th place and Liam Whitely got 9th place. The boys finished the invite in 3rd place overall. The Stars will host Clinton Central next Tuesday evening in a dual meet.
