The Western Boone Lady Stars had an unforgettable night on Friday, January 18, 2025, as they faced off against the Frankfort Hotdogs in an action-packed basketball game. From the very start, the Lady Stars set the tone with their aggressive defense, using a diamond-and-one press that the Hotdogs simply couldn’t break through. By the end of the first quarter, the Stars were dominating with a 22-2 lead. The game was a total team effort, with nearly four players scoring in double digits. Ally Lewis led the charge with 16 points, followed by Ilsa Stokes with 15, Olivia Regan with 12 (and just one rebound shy of a double-double!), and Isabella Grady with 9. In the end, the Lady Stars sealed the victory with a commanding 58-15 score. But the Stars didn’t have much time to celebrate, as they were back on the court the very next day to face the North Putnam Cougars. Ilsa Stokes came out strong, draining two three-pointers in the first quarter, but the Lady Stars found themselves trailing 20-14 going into the second. They bounced back with a strong second quarter, outscoring the Cougars 14-9 to keep the game close. By halftime, the Cougars held a narrow lead, 29-28. The Stars continued to fight throughout the game, but despite their efforts, the final buzzer sounded with a 55-45 win for the Cougars. The Lady Stars will be back in action on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, as they take on the Speedway Sparkplugs. Don’t miss it! The JV Girls Basketball team travelled to North Putnam Saturday for another two quarter game.  The Star's defense got off to a slow start allowing 17 points from the Cougars vs. 8 of their own in the first quarter.  Webo did a better job of limiting three pointers in the second quarter but they were unable to connect offensively and finished with a loss 31 to 14.  They will be back in action Tuesday at Speedway.
