The Lady Stars hit the court with a BANG in the first half against the Fountain Central Mustangs! From the opening tip-off, the Stars showcased impressive teamwork, moving the ball skillfully against the Mustangs’ intense man-to-man defense. But it wasn’t just their offense making waves—their defense stole the show, fueling their attack. The Stars’ diamond-and-1 press left the Mustangs rattled, struggling to find their rhythm. Rebounding was key, and Ally Lewis and Olivia Regan stepped up big time, each grabbing five defensive rebounds to keep the Mustangs off the board. Heading into the second quarter, the Stars didn’t ease up. They kept the pressure on, working together as a unit. Then came the highlight of the half: with just two seconds left on the clock, Olivia Regan launched a jaw-dropping half-court shot that swished through the net, sending the Stars into halftime with an 11-point lead. The gym erupted! During the break, the Mustangs regrouped and came out in a 1-3-1 defense for the second half. While the Lady Stars continued to play with heart and hustle, the Mustangs’ adjustments proved to be the difference, as they edged out the win 49-39 in the end. Next up, the Lady Stars take on Clinton Prairie this Saturday at 12:30. Let’s pack the stands and cheer them on! Go Stars! JV The JV Girls Basketball team travelled to Fountain Central for a short two quarter game Thursday evening. Webo struggled to find some offensive rhythm in the first quarter to fall short 6 to 10 against the Mustangs. But in the second, shots started to fall and in combination with their aggressive defense, the Stars put up 15 points and came out with the win 21 to 19. They will be back in action next Tuesday at home against Crawfordsville.
