Star Swimmers split against Mavericks of McCutcheon

The Western Boone swim teams travelled to McCutcheon to compete Monday evening. The girls swept 1st (Rebecca Rustin), 2nd (Evie Maurath), and 3rd (Rylee Pelley) places in the 200 Free. In the 200 IM Jenna Twitty finished 1st, and Claire Torp got 3rd place and a new Season Best time of 3:18.11. Kyndal Dickerson took 2nd place in the 50 Free, and Joan Gearheart came home with a new Season Best diving score of 133.50 and 3rd place. Eisley Whitely fought for 2nd place in the 100 Butterfly (1:23.97) and 2nd place in the 100 Breaststroke for a new Season Best time of 1:28.04. Jaili Torp swam for 2nd place in the 100 Backstroke and a new Season Best time of 1:20.74, and Janie Ransom got a new Season Best time of 1:51.44 and 3rd place in the 100 Breaststroke. The girls finished the evening capturing 1st place in the 400 Free Relay with the team of Kyndal Dickerson, Joan Gearheart, Evie Maurath, and Jenna Twitty, and 3rd place with the team of Janie Ransom, Jaili Torp, Claire Torp, and Adalyn Sartin. Despite their best efforts the girls team lost by 10 points with a final score of 85 to 95. The boys team started their evening finishing 1st in the 200 Medley Relay with the team of Jacob Norman, Jude Balke, Isaac Threlkeld, and Chase Collier. In the 200 Free Jacob Norman took 1st (1:56.47) and Henry Biggs got 3rd (2:14.00). Isaac Threlkeld swam for 1st in the 200 IM and a new Personal Record of 2:25.69. Xander Rouse walked away with another 1st place finish in diving with a score of 169.00. The boys swept 1st (Isaac Threlkeld), 2nd (Ethan Barnett), and 3rd (Malachi Catterson) places in the 100 Butterfly, and Jude Balke swam for a new Personal Record and 2nd place in the 100 Free with a time of 58.02. The boys swept 1st (Chase Collier), 2nd (Alex Crockett), and 3rd (Hendry Biggs) in the 500 Free. Jacob Norman won the 100 Backstroke (1:03.16), Jude Balke won the 100 Breaststroke (1:14.39), and Liam Whitely took 2nd place in the 100 Breaststroke (1:21.48). The boys finished 1st and 2nd in the 400 Free Relay as well. The boys team dominated the night and came home with a win over McCutcheon with a final score of 108 to 75. The Stars will swim again this Thursday evening against Frankfort.
