Girls start Swimming and Diving season off with a 115-53 Win

The Western Boone High School Girls Swim Team hosted their first meet of the season Thursday evening against Fountain Central.  The girls came out strong in the first event of the evening, the 200 Medley Relay, with the team of Jenna Twitty, Eisley Whitely, Joan Gearheart, and Kyndal Dickerson capturing first place with a time of 2:18.58.  Rebecca Rustin won first place in the 200 Freestyle race with a time of 2:33.19 and Eisley Whitely won first in the 200 IM (2:52.41) and the 100 Breastroke (1:29.51).  Joan Gearheart took third place in diving, and Hailey Christy got fourth place in her first ever diving competition.  Jenna Twitty brought home first in the 100 Butterfly (1:14.14) and the 100 Backstroke (1:12.90), and Evie Maurath fought hard for a first place finish in the 100 Free (1:07.96).  In the 200 Freestyle Relay the team of Evie Maurath, Kyndal Dickerson, Claire Torp, and Rebecca Rustin had a first place finish (2:07.99), and in the 400 Freestyle Relay the team of Evie Maurath, Rebecca Rustin, Jenna Twitty, and Eisley Whitely won first (4:35.84).  The Lady Stars ended the night with a big win over Fountain Central with a final score of 115 to 53.  The girls compete again when they face off against Crawfordsville December 3rd.
