The Western Boone divers had a great showing at the Western Diving Invite on Saturday. The event featured divers from eight different schools. The WeBo girls won the invitational as a team, with senior Leelah Fettig winning the individual title. Fettig scored 407.35 for her 11 dives, less than a point away from the school record. Maisa Kent-Doolan was fourth with a score of 267.9 and Cara Hanna was eighth with a score of 217.25. For the boys, Xander Rouse placed 11th with a score of 220.3. The Star swim teams traveled to McCutcheon on Monday night. The girls came from behind to win with a score of 100-85. Kicking off the meet in the 200-yard medley relay was the team of Rashel Anderson, Adelaide Jones, Lindsey Steimel, and Hannah Hayden placing second. In fourth was the team of Brooklynn Schiery, Rebecca Rustin, Annabelle Mickschl, and Lilly Maners. Kaitlyn Crowley started the individual events of the evening with a win in the 200-yard freestyle, followed by Rustin in third place. Jenna Twitty earned second place in the 200-yard IM; Mickschl took fifth. In the 50-yard freestyle, Katherine Aliff earned a win for the Stars; Maners and Schiery placed fourth and sixth respectively. Leelah Fettig earned her fifth diving win of the season with a score of 248.10. Maisa Kent-Doolan and Cara Hanna also placed third and fourth for the Stars. Hayden and Steimel placed second and third respectively in the 100-yard butterfly. Anderson earned another win for the Stars in the 100-yard freestyle; Aliff also earned third and Schiery placed sixth. In the 500-yard freestyle, Jones earned a win and Crowley placed third. The 200-yard freestyle relay team of Aliff, Hayden, Twitty, and Jones won the event; the team of Steimel, Crowley, Rustin, and Mickschl placed third to bring the score closer to a win. In the 100-yard backstroke, Anderson, Twitty, and Maners placed 1-2-3 respectively to pull the Stars ahead of the Mavericks. Jones earned second place in the 100-yard breaststroke; Hanna and Rustin placed fifth and sixth. The 400-yard freestyle relay team of Anderson, Hayden, Aliff, and Crowley earned one final win for the Stars, and the team of Twitty, Maners, Steimel, and Mickschl placed third to clinch the win for Webo. The boys fell to the Mavericks with a score of 114-68. The medley relay team of Jacob Norman, Jude Balke, Tanner Weakley, and Daniel Talbott started off the meet with a second-place finish. Norman, Wyatt Barnett, and Talbott followed in the 200-yard freestyle, placing second, third, and fourth respectively. Weakley earned the first win for the Stars in the 200-yard IM. Chase Collier and Balke earned third and fourth in the 50-yard freestyle, followed by Isaac Garringer in sixth. Xander Rouse earned a third-place finish in the diving for the boys. Weakley finished second in a close 100-yard butterfly race. Ethan Barnett and Zach Connors placed second and third in the 100-yard freestyle, followed by Artie Milliser in fifth place. Talbott, W. Barnett, and Collier finished second, third, and fourth in the 500-yard freestyle for the boys. The 200-yard freestyle relay team of Connors, E. Barnett, Weakley, and W. Barnett finished second; the team of Balke, Garringer, Milliser, and Collier finished fourth. Norman came out with a win in a close 100-yard backstroke race; E. Barnett also finished third. Balke ended the individual events with a third-place finish in the 100-yard breaststroke. The 400-yard freestyle relay team of E. Barnett, W. Barnett, Norman, and Connors ended the meet with a second-place finish; the team of Milliser, Talbott, Garringer, and Collier finished fourth.
