The Lady Stars matched up against Tri-West on Friday night, coming away with a hard fought 76-75 conference win in triple overtime. The Stars came out with intensity and aggressiveness, playing solid defense and slowing down the Bruins offense. As the first half continued, the Lady Stars struggled to make their free throws and layups, going into halftime only up three points. In the second half, the Stars did a great job of playing as a team, with a lot of players putting points on the board and contributing on both ends of the court. At the end of the fourth quarter, the Bruins hit two big threes, sending the game into overtime. Throughout the three overtime periods, the Stars continued to battle, never giving up and playing with heart the whole game. Saige Terwiske, Olivia Reagan, and Rebecca Keyes stepped up big in overtime, each assisting in various ways to help lead the Stars to a great team win. Three of the Lady Stars' players end with double doubles. Carlie Pennington led the Stars with 19 points and 12 rebounds, followed by Emmy Roys with 18 points and 20 rebounds and Katheryn Rutherford with 15 points and 13 rebounds. The Lady Stars are back in action on Friday night against the Lebanon Tigers in a conference matchup. Go Stars!
