The 7th Grade Stars finished their season last night at home against Lebanon. The Stars ultimately fell 12-14. The Stars running game was lead by Lukas Harrison, Weston Richardson, and Blake Warmoth. Ryder Devol completed several passes to Jackson Potter that included a Touchdown pass right before half to give the Stars a 6-0 lead at Halftime. Harrison scored the other Stars touchdown on the ground. The Stars offensive line of Brannon Gadbury, Caleb Douglas, Tate Fields, Drake Wagner, and Connor Palmer protected Devol while in the pocket and opened holes for the ground game. The Defensive front of Hayden Demaree, Kamden Talbert, Gadbury, Palmer, Fields, Wagner, Douglas, kept the QB scrambling all night that lead to a Warmoth interception that set up the TD just before Half. The Coaches and players want to thank Aleena Beck, Khloe Dunavent, and Kimberly Ward for being our student managers this season and doing everything they could to support the team. The Stars finish the season 6-1. The Western Boone 8th grade football team fell to rival Lebanon last evening by a final score of 28 - 0. Once again missing several key players, while also facing an opponent who had significant advantages physically, the Stars would pride themselves on competing every snap and staying together until the final whistle. For the Stars, Noah Baird was able to step in to run the offense after just two practices at the position. The hard running of Charlie Jones and Colton Mitchell would find some success in moving the chains behind the offensive line providing whatever they could to assist. Kane Jackson once again demonstrated his willingness to play wherever, and do whatever was asked, as he has all season, playing both on the line and running the ball hard. Defensively, the Stars collectively did what they could to contain a high-powered Tiger offense and were able to force a couple of hard-earned drives by the Tigers. The Stars finished their season with a final record of 4-3-1. This year's campaign is best summed up by a strong and positive start, followed by a lesson in facing adversity and adjusting to difficult circumstances while maintaining resolve, in the final three games.
