The 7th Grade Stars travelled to Danville on Monday night to take on the Warriors. The Stars came away with a 12-0 victory. Lukas Harrison and Blake Warmoth scored on touchdown runs for the Stars. Weston Richardson came in a tough spot and blocked well for the Stars. Ryder Devol completed passes on a crucial 4th Quarter drive to Jackson Potter and Warmoth to keep the chains and clock moving. The defense was lights out once again stopping Danville at the 2 yard line to end the first half. Crew Gallimore knocked down a pass that would have been a big play for the Warriors. The front 7 of Connor Palmer, Drake Wagner, Tate Fields, Richardson, Caleb Douglas, Harrison, Hayden Demaree slowed the Warrior ground game. The Western Boone 8th Grade football team fell to host Danville last evening, 19 - 0. The Stars struggled to find anything positive in the first half on offense, while dealing with several key missing players, mainly on the offensive line. The high pressure, always blitzing defense from the Warriors would be a lot to ask to manage for several new faces stepping in to fill in those roles for the first time. The defense, however, would play a great half to keep it at only 6-0 heading to the break. After making some adjustments, the offense was able to at least find minor success in the second half, move the chains a few times and make their way inside the Warriors twenty-yard line twice. However, they would never truly threaten to score. The Stars defense would continue to battle and keep the game respectable until the end. Outside of three big passing plays, the Warriors would struggle to consistently move the ball as well. Both teams will wrap up their season next Monday at home against the Lebanon Tigers. Kickoff is set for 5:30 pm.
