The 8th grade Stars hosted the North Montgomery Chargers on Tuesday night. The team set the tone early, played physical, moved the ball and played unselfish basketball. The Stars played team defense and forced several quick shots. Quinn Westerfeld led the Stars with 17, Nate Thompson had a solid game on both ends added 13. Owen Oakley had 9 and some big rebounds and defensive stops. Reese Young added 5 and had some great passes and assists. Levi Jackson stepped up with rebounds, defense and had 4 points. Total team effort to get the win 50-26. The Stars visit the Sheridan Blackhawks on Thursday. The boys 7th grade basketball team hosted North Montgomery last night and came away with a hard fought win 34-30. The Stars jumped out to an early lead but defensive breakdowns allowed North Mont to cut the lead to 1 at halftime. The team came out of half and once again built a lead, but North Mount fought back taking the lead with 2:00 to go. The boys closed the game causing 4 straight turnovers to come away with the win. Levi Adkins lead in scoring with 14, followed by Carson Nicley with 8, Sam Rausch, Carter Eckert, Dane Allen each had 4.
