The Western Boone Jr high boys soccer team were defeated by Crawfordsville Thursday night by a score of 0-7. Wyatt Paris and Andrew Castillo played well at midfield, trying to win the ball every chance they could. Crosby Kinsler and Jackson Linton had some good touches but it was hard to advance the ball against the Athenians. Joseph Boddicker played some sweeper which was a different position for him and he played it well. Maison Lutz ended the game as our goalkeeper and had 2 saves. Hernan Trincado and Timothy Walker also had multiple saves on goal. Brammer Lasley is out currently with a hamstring injury but does his best to get the goalie's warmed up. Nathan Lester was injured in the first half but toughed it out to play the 2nd half. Fritz Heine took the ball away from their best player at times and Declan Avila took a few shots to the face because he had good position on their offense. Evan Washburn and Ryan McCormick played multiple positions in the contest. Coach Lester commented, "At the end of the game when we were down by 7, I saw every player out there working hard and still striving to do their best." The stars will play again next Tuesday for their final home match vs Greencastle.
