The 7th Grade Stars came out with a decisive 46-8 Victory on Tuesday evening. The Stars were led by the entire Defense. Drake Wagner & Caleb Douglas sat the tone from the first play from scrimmage forcing a Charger fumble in which Lukas Harrison recovered to give the Stars great field position on their opening drive. Connor Palmer had 3 sacks and was in the Charger back field all night. The Defense forced 5 Charger fumbles. The offense moved the ball at will thanks to the blocking of Tate Fields, Douglas, Brannon Gadbury, Wagner, and Palmer. Scoring touchdowns for the Stars were Blake Warmoth (2), Harrison (2), Corey Boggs, and Jackson Potter. Harrison, Potter, Boggs, and Weston Richardson all added 2 point conversions. The Western Boone 8th grade football team completed the sweep of the North Montgomery Chargers on Tuesday, winning by a score of 20 - 0. The Stars defense was once again the story as they produced their second shutout in a row. The mixed front of Charlie Jones, Rawly Woodrum, Cole Hurliman, Brooklyn Wagner, Levi Biggs, Aerick Ranney, Zach Ford, TJ Goss, Cole Hurliman, Beau Sanders and linebacking group of Noah Baird, Kane Jackson & Corbyn Wilt would completely stifle the Chargers run game. This allowed the secondary of Tyson Riner, Klayton Mikesell, Lane Rose, Colton Mitchell and Bennet King to pounce on opportunities in the North Mont passing game. While keeping the Charger receivers in check, they were able to add two key interceptions (Rose and Mitchell). On the offensive side of the ball, the Stars were once again able to rush for over 150 yards in a well-paced and methodical attack, while winning the time of possession battle. Mainly, they would find themselves in similar situations to last week's game, but this time they would be able to make the breakthrough plays to put the ball in the endzone. Scoring and playing well behind the strong effort from the offensive line were Tyson Riner, who yet again demonstrated excellent game management and the ability to make plays of his own; Noah Baird, who would once again break 100 yards rushing; Charlie Jones, Kane Jackson and Colton Mitchell, who would add big runs and/or big scoring plays. The Stars will be back in action next week when they host the Frankfort Hot Dogs.
