The Western Boone Lady Stars softball team traveled to Noblesville to take on the Golden Eagles of Guerin Catholic. The Stars got started in the 2nd inning posting 3 runs and continued to put up multiple runs in each inning after that to collect a 13-1, 5 inning run rule win. The Stars offense posted 14 hits led by Morganne Grant with 3 hits and 4 RBIs. Gabby Lewis, Ally Lewis, Emma Shirley, Mikayla Naanos and Kirstin McCormick all had 2 hits in the contest. Mickey Burns got the start and the win allowing 0 runs on 3 hits while walking 1 and striking out 4. Ally Lewis came in finish things out in the 5th allowing 1 run on 1 hit. 5/11 Recap The Lady Stars softball team hosted the Wildcats of Lawerence North on Saturday for a double header. In the first game the Stars battled but ultimately came up short in extra innings 5-6. Gabby Lewis got the start going 6 innings allowing 2 earned runs on 4 hits, 2 walks and 1 strikeout. Mickey Burns pitched 2 in relief allowing 1 earned run on 3 hits, 3 walks and 1 strikeout. The Stars were led at the plate by Gabby Lewis, Ally Lewis and Kenzlei Mathews all posting 2 hits in the contest. In the second game of the double header Ally Lewis got the start and went the distance allowing 1 earned run on 9 hits with 0 walk and 9 strikeouts. The Stars offense posted 13 hits in the 7-1 win. Emma Shirley had 3 hits and drove in 2 RBIs as Gabby Lewis and Ally Lewis added 2 hits of their own in the win. The Stars are back in action Monday in a conference matchup as they host the Lady Mounties of Southmont as they attempt to stay atop the Sagamore Conference.
