The Stars varsity baseball team dropped game two of the series with Danville by a final score of 7-5. Western Boone couldn’t get the offense rolling for the first five innings and trailed 7-0 after five. In the sixth the Stars scored three runs. In the seventh the Stars plated two more runs and with two outs had a runner at third and the tying run on second. It wasn’t meant to be as a hard ground ball ended the game. Owen Howe had two hits while Hawkins, Grimes, Westerfeld, Jackson, Kopriva (Bren), and Wiley all recorded a single hit. The loss moves the Stars record to 9-5 overall and 4-3 in the conference. No time to dwell on the outcome as Western Boone is set to host Cascade on Friday the 26th at 5:30.
