The girls A group improved their record to 3-1 on the year with a 7-0 victory over North Montgomery on Monday night. Raina Lutz was dominant in the circle in the Stars home opener putting together a no-hitter. Lutz faced just 16 batters through 5 innings, striking out 12 with just one walk. The Lady Stars offensively had seven hits in the game. They were led by Harper Nance who went 2-2 with a double and 3 RBI’s, followed by Mady Monks, Lexi Gregg, Cora Reagan, and Raina Lutz with a hit each. In the B game, the Lady Stars lost their home opener 11-12. The team battled throughout, but in the end gave up too many unearned runs to come out on top. The girls did swing the bats well at the plate with several Stars getting hits and extra bases from the start. Abby Detty led the group going 2-2 with a double, while Lexi Mitchell, Riley Gunn, Jerzie Nelson, Layna Zigler, Leigha Anderson, and Adella Hoskins all added hits of their own. The Jr. High Softball teams are back in action at home on Tuesday, 4/23, vs. Clinton Central with the first game starting at 5:30pm.
