Western Boone Jr. - Sr. High School

The Western Boone Lady Stars softball team hit the field last night in their season opener against Noblesville. The Stars settled after allowing 7 runs in the first two innings but ultimately fell 13-3. Gabby Lewis got the start on the mound for the Stars pitching 2 innings before Ally Lewis came in relief in the 3rd inning. The pair allowed 8 earned runs on 14 hits while striking out 7 and walking 4 batters. The Stars were lead at the plate by Kirstin McCormick and Mikayla Naanos going 2 for 3 and 1 for 3 with 2 RBIs respectively. Emma Shirley, Gabby Lewis, Ally Lewis and Mickey Burns also recorded hits for the Stars in the contest. The Stars are back in action this Thursday when the travel to Sheridan to take on the Lady Blackhawks at 5:30pm.
