Game 1 vs. Lewis Cass The Lady Stars matched up against Lewis Cass in the first round of the Carroll Holiday Tournament, playing hard but falling short of the victory and ending with a score of 26-37. From the start of the game, the Stars struggled to execute on offense, going into halftime with only seven points on the board. The Lady Stars picked up their offensive movement in the second half, doing a better job of getting looks at the basket and scoring. In the end, the Stars couldn't overcome the scoring deficit and were unable to execute the game plan, leading to the loss. The team was led in scoring by Olivia Reagan with 9 points and Ally Lewis with 5 points. Reagan also grabbed 11 rebounds for the Lady Stars. Game 2 vs. University The Lady Stars battled the University Trailblazers in the second game of the tournament, playing three solid quarters but unable to finish the game, losing 56-65. The Stars had a great first half, moving the ball well offensively and battling on the defensive end. As the second half progressed, the Lady Stars couldn't slow down the Trailblazers and struggled to continue their solid offensive movement from the first half. In the end the Stars couldn't get good looks at the basket or hang on to the lead, causing the tough loss. The team was led in scoring Ki'erra Koch with 17 points, followed by Ally Lewis with 15 points and Olivia Reagan with 12. Reagan had a great game on the boards, finishing with 12 rebounds followed by Gott and Koch who each added 7 boards. Game 3 vs. Riverton Parke The Stars finished out the tournament facing Riverton Parke, ending the game with a 46-44 win. The Lady Stars were motivated to come out of the tournament with a victory, playing aggressive and as a team on both ends of the court. Despite the team struggling to hit shots on the offensive end, the Stars battled through and continued to maintain a lead the majority of the game. The Lady Stars went into halftime up three points, hoping to execute their game plan more consistently on both ends of the court in the second half. Riverton Parke came out fired up in the second half, forcing the Stars to commit numerous turnovers and miss their shorts. The Lady Stars played as a team and held on in the end to get the win. The team was led in scoring by Olivia Reagan with 11 points and Ally Lewis with 10. The Stars are back in action on January 6th as they travel to Clinton Prairie to take on the Gophers.
