The Lady Stars faced conference rival Southmont on Friday, coming away with a big 51-47 team win. The Stars were locked in and focused from the beginning, hoping to get a win in their second match up against the Mounties this season. The Lady Stars wasted no time executing the game plan, playing aggressive from the start on both ends of the court. The Stars did a great job of finding open gaps and getting good offensive opportunities, going into halftime up 24-16. As the third quarter progressed, the Lady Stars stayed focused, dominated on the boards, and continued to play solid defense. The Mounties picked up their defensive pressure in the fourth quarter, forcing the Stars to turn the ball over. The Lady Stars did their best to stay composed, hanging on and coming away with an awesome team win. The Stars were led in scoring by Ki’erra Koch with 18 points, followed by Ally Lewis with 17 and Emmerson Gott with 10. Olivia Reagan had a big night on the boards, ending the game with 15 rebounds. The Lady Stars are back in action next Friday in the first day of the Carroll Holiday Tournament. Go Stars! The JV Girls Basketball team hosted the Mounties from South Montgomery Friday night for a very aggressive game that had a total of 39 fouls. The Stars led the first half with great defense and controlled offense with a score of 22 to 11. In the third quarter, Webo gave up some ground but still held the lead going into the fourth 27 to 23. The Mounties gave a great effort in the last quarter but the Stars handled the pressure and hit some big free throws late in the game to come away with the win 34 to 29. This was the best effort this young team has shown yet this season on both sides of the court.
